We are excited to launch this new project to resource chaplains and pastoral staff across FE (post 16 education) settings in the West - midlands region free of charge.
How these resources could work
There are lots of ways to use these resources, depending on your setting, the people you work with and what you want to achieve. They could be used:
Within chaplaincy spaces and pastoral settings.
In canteens, common rooms and other informal social spaces.
During freshers' weeks and student induction activities.
As part of wellbeing events, themed days or awareness weeks.
Within an existing programme or activity.
To help establish a new group, activity or regular space for conversation.
As part of Christian Union activities or other faith-based initiatives.
About the Project.
With thanks to the St Peter’s Saltley Trust, we are looking to partner with chaplains and pastoral staff in Further Education (FE) settings across the Anglican dioceses of Birmingham, Coventry, Hereford, Lichfield and Worcester to trial our resources in post-16 settings.
As part of our 1 Million Conversations initiative, we want to inspire young people to have brilliant conversations that are fun, engaging, supportive and helpful as they navigate a season of rapid change and new opportunities.
We want to support chaplains and others in the valuable work they do to reach out, build positive connections and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people aged 16–18.
If you work in an FE setting, would like some free resources, and are willing to try different ways of using them and share your feedback with us, we would love to hear from you.
