Launching: Koble
We are thrilled to launch our brand new missional equipping resource: Koble.
Koble (from the Norwegian word meaning “to connect”) is designed to help churches engage in mission within their own unique context. Exploring the journey from pre-evangelism through to discipleship, Koble helps churches connect with people at every stage of faith — from those furthest from Christianity to those ready to take their next step towards Jesus. Through practical tools, discussion, reflection, and training, Koble equips Christians and churches for mission in today’s world.
In the UK today, most people do not have an active faith in God. At the same time, many are searching and increasingly open to exploring questions of meaning, purpose, and faith. Yet this openness exists alongside indifference, resistance, and widespread disconnection from the church.
For churches, this creates both opportunity and challenge. We often find ourselves unsure how to begin meaningful conversations, or how to help relationships move beyond surface connection into genuine spiritual engagement. Whilst some people are actively seeking faith for themselves, many are not. Traditional approaches to evangelism remain vital and life-giving, but in many contexts we are discovering that people are not yet in a place to engage with them directly.
This means we are often called to start further back: taking time to build trust, listen well, and engage with the real questions and experiences people are already carrying. Far from replacing traditional evangelism, this is about preparing the ground so that those moments of clear Gospel proclamation and invitation can be heard, understood, and received.
Koble exists to help the Church respond to this reality.
It encourages us to recognise where people are starting from, and to think intentionally about how we connect with them in everyday life — friends, neighbours, colleagues, and those on the edges of church life. It helps bridge the gap between first contact and deeper engagement with the Christian faith.
Koble is built around the 10 Ds of Mission and Growth:
Discover – noticing who we are currently reaching and where God may be opening new opportunities
Difference – recognising cultural change and the missional gaps around us
Desire – allowing our hearts to be stirred again for mission
Distinctive – exploring what it means to live as the people of God today
Dwell – learning to be present and build authentic relationships in our communities
Dialogue – creating space for natural, meaningful conversations about life and faith
Delivery – thinking creatively about invitation and engagement at different stages
Decision – supporting people as they respond to God in their own time and way
Discipleship – nurturing lifelong growth in Christ together
Direction – discerning next steps and embedding mission into church life
Together, these provide a simple but rich framework for helping churches engage more faithfully and effectively in mission today.
Each session of Koble creates space to engage with Scripture and missional reflection, share honest conversation, pray together, and take simple, practical steps into everyday mission.
Over time, this rhythm helps shape mission not as an occasional activity or a programme, but as a natural way of life — one that prepares the ground for deeper Gospel conversations and creates more opportunities for people to encounter and respond to the Christian story.
Wherever you find yourself — whether passionate about mission, unsure where to begin, or even hesitant about it—Koble is for you.
If you long to connect more deeply with people you already know, or to reach those you don’t.
If you want to engage with those who might say “no,” as well as those who are already thinking “maybe” or even “yes.”
Koble is here to help you join in with God’s mission in your community—among friends, neighbours, colleagues, and beyond.
Resources & How to Use Koble
Koble is made up of three core resources: the Koble Study Guide, the Koble website, and this Leaders’ Guide. Together, they provide everything needed to run Koble well in your church.
The Study Guide is the main resource for participants. It takes individuals and groups through each of the 10 Ds with teaching, Bible passages, activities, discussion questions, and space for reflection. We encourage every participant—including leaders—to have their own copy.
The Koble website offers additional supporting materials for each session, including downloads, extended content, and ongoing updates to enrich the journey.
This Leaders’ Guide supports you as you lead and embed Koble in your context, offering an overview of Koble alongside practical help for preparing, launching, running, and reviewing the journey in your church.
Training and Support
Koble has been designed so that churches can self-deliver the material using the resources provided. Many will be able to run it confidently without additional input.
However, optional training and support is also available:
Preparing for Koble – a leadership workshop introducing the resource
Kickstarting Koble – an interactive launch where we help deliver the first sessions
Delivering Koble – full facilitation across the journey (if required)
Wrapping up Koble – a reflective session to gather learning and plan next steps
We also run Discover events for leaders who want to explore Koble further before beginning. If you would like us to host an event near you, please do get in touch.
